“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
My answer is “it doesn’t matter.” It’s like it never happened. If no one knows what you’re doing, you won’t get far.
I started this blog for a few reasons:
1.) To show what I’m doing and what I’m thinking about
2.) To get feedback on what I’m doing and thinking about. Please give me your opinion on all of my posts. If you disagree with something I say, please let me know. If you have questions, let me know. If you can think of a better way for me to do what I’m doing, please let me know.
3.) To help me think through things. When you go to actually put your thoughts down on paper, you realize how much more you have to learn. It forces you to think through everything and that results in a better understanding of your ideas.
4.) To connect with more people than I could by going to events. Blogging scales. I can reach a wider audience with a blog post than I could by going to a bunch of events. That doesn’t mean I’m going to stop going to events. I try to go to at least two per week.
5.) To help others. I’ve learned a lot from reading other peoples’ blogs. It’s time for me to return the favor. I’ll also be writing about awesome people and companies in order to help promote them.
