I’ve decided to completely ignore the upcoming presidential election for a couple reasons:
First, much like education, everything in government is broken. Everyone knows the problems, so I’m not even going to cite them. It’s frustrating to watch, let a lone participate in.
Second, it’s almost completely out of my control. There’s almost nothing worse than the armchair-politicians spend all their time complaining about politicians as if they know everything and could do a better job, but are really just spinning their wheels because nothing they say will have any impact.
I really liked this quote by James Altucher:
“I will never care about who is president. Not a single politician has ever made me happier or sadder. So I don’t care about who is elected ever.”
I wrote a piece in Huffington Post about the government’s innovation problems. Companies seeking to solve that problem, compete with government, or reduce the need for it, are my only areas of interest when it comes to politics.
